AI for plastics manufacturing

from €4,900 · preset: plastics

In your sector, the gap with Europe is small. The gap with the plant next door may not be.

Firms using AI

source (opens in a new tab)Eurostat, AI use by sector (isoc_eb_ain2), 2025 · official statistics · firms with 10+ staff · rubber, plastics and non-metallic minerals (NACE C22–C23)

Eurostat’s category also covers cement, glass and ceramics. Sector figures swing from year to year, so we show 2025 alone rather than a jump.

The short shot turns up on the customer’s credit note. The mould change waits for the setter. The quote takes three days. If any of that sounds like your plant, that’s where we start.

An office inside the Almyros industrial area. We take your site safety induction before we step onto the line.

The invisible

Four sentences from every plastics plant.

None of them shows up on the balance sheet. All of them get paid for, in scrap, in overtime, in RFQs lost without a word.

What we build

Machines on the left. Buyers on the right.

A plastics plant wins in two ways: less scrap, and more RFQs that reach you. We work on both, with the same method and the same data.

AI & Custom Solutions

  1. Vision quality control

A camera on every part instead of sampling. The inspector judges only the grey zone.

Funding. In the X-Ray we check which programme fits, if any does, against the current call text.

The formula

Hidden cost/year = [(logging minutes × shifts ÷ 60) + (downtime hours × idle people)] × 12 × €/hour + (downtime hours × 12 × € per downtime hour)

Cost/year = hidden hours/month × 12 × hourly cost (+ external cost, where there is one). Automatable = labour cost × department coefficient (0.20–0.40) + external cost × a second coefficient. People = hidden hours/month × coefficient ÷ 150 hours. Payback = pilot cost ÷ (automatable ÷ 12).

The coefficients are our own conservative estimate, shown here so you can challenge them. 150 hours is one person's productive time in a month (≈1,800 a year).

Ask the AI about your sector. Does it name you?

After: it names you, citing your spec table

One option is [Your company], in the Almyros industrial area: food-contact PE film, with thicknesses, tolerances, minimum order and lead times published in its spec table. [1]

Questions

What can AI do in a plastics plant?

Four things, in order of risk: it inspects every part with a camera instead of sampling, recommends moulding parameters from your history, drafts quotes from the RFQ and drawing, and cuts cooling and drying energy. We start with whatever the Plant X-Ray shows will pay back first.

Do I need new cameras for quality control?

Often not. We test the IP cameras you already have first, using photos from your line. If resolution or lighting falls short, we tell you what’s needed and where before you buy anything. The test runs on one line, inside the Plant X-Ray.

How long does a pilot take, and what does it cost?

A machine-vision pilot usually runs 6–8 weeks on one press family. Our pilots start from €6,000, and the success thresholds are signed before any code is written. The Plant X-Ray, from €4,900, is credited in full against the pilot.

Will we have to change our ERP?

No. We connect to the ERP you have, such as SoftOne, Entersoft or Epsilon, and to myDATA. 80% of SMEs name ERP or CRM integration as a barrier to AI. That’s why integration is part of our work, not an extra.

What won’t the AI do?

It won’t decide grey-zone batches on its own, it won’t invent prices, and it won’t replace your setter. It makes his know-how available to the whole shift. The hours it frees go where you need people.
