- Psychology
- If someone told you "don't come today", you believe them when they say "come tomorrow". A small, admitted weakness makes a competent party more likeable (Aronson, Willerman & Floyd, 1966). And a window that closes is scarce by definition: we want what's scarce (Worchel, Lee & Adewole, 1975). Don't come today. Wind Window: a marketing idea for yacht charters and boat trips

- An example week, shaped like the season around Crete. When it runs for a charter company, the forecast comes every hour from a licensed marine provider.
The demo didn't load. The description below tells you what you'd have seen.
The demo in words: a map of Crete with the wind for each of the next seven days, an example week shaped like the season. You pick a day and who is going out (first time on a boat, or an experienced crew). Three verdict cards, for Heraklion, Chania and Agios Nikolaos, say "Ideal", "Needs experience" or "Don't come today", using wind and wave limits of the kind a skipper sets. Two green days in a row stamp a "Perfect window", and a preview of the matching ad appears: calm days for beginners, the meltemi for experienced sailors, or, on a red day, a story telling booked guests not to come and offering a free date change.
A charter company that reads the forecast before you do. When the weather opens a window, it tells you. When you wouldn't enjoy it, it tells you that too, and moves your date for free.
A marketing tool, not a marine forecast. For sailing, the coastguard's instructions and the skipper's word apply.

Every day, the forecast (wind speed and direction, wave height) is cross-checked against fleet availability.
-
When a "perfect window" opens in the next 7–14 days and boats are free, dynamic ads go to people who know you: "calm window" for beginners, "meltemi" for experienced sailors.
-
A route-planner page: pick a seven-day route and see the miles and expected wind for each leg.
-
On red days: a public verdict, free rescheduling, land alternatives from partners, and a Reel in which the skipper explains why the company is turning away revenue today.
-
A WhatsApp chat with the skipper, a person with AI assistance, always disclosed.

What to expect, honestly
We don't promise viral. We promise a mechanism you can measure.
- Last-minute occupancy +3–8 points
- CTR on triggered ads +30–100%
- Review rating over a season +0.1–0.3 stars
most likely on a first run · A first run usually lands in the lower half of the range.
Before launch we fix one primary KPI and a control: a holdout area, off-trigger days or the previous period.Guardrails
- A commercial licence for the marine data.
- "Boats free" comes from the real booking system. Never fake scarcity.
- The verdict never replaces the skipper or the coastguard's instructions.
- Routes respect protected areas.
- Free rescheduling is always honoured. If it isn't, the mechanism turns against you.
Who did it before us
Ads switched on by the weather have been measured. And honesty that costs money has been a campaign before.
Third-party results are mostly self-reported, from award entries and vendors. They show a mechanic can work, not what it will do for you.

The same rules engine, in a factory.
Data that changes every hour, rules written by the person who knows, and a decision that arrives in time. On a boat it says "don't come today". In a factory it says "move the compressor out of the peak".
